5 Quick and Easy Google Ads Tips!

Google Ads is a top choice for transportation and especially black car businesses to generate more business. Why? People often don't know specific transportation companies by name, making it vital to appear for relevant search terms.

1. Set up Google Analytics, Google Tags & All Tracking

The biggest mistake to avoid is setting up on Google Ads without properly tracking them. If you can't exactly track clicks on your website and conversions that are coming from your ads, then you won't know if your wasting money, which is dangerous.

When starting a new ad, target only the exact cities and zip codes you want requests from. Avoid wasting money by showing ads in irrelevant regions. Pro Tip: Select wealthy zip codes in your business area.

3. Never do Broad Keyword Matching + Add Negative Keywords

The easiest way to make your ads unsuccessful is to show up for search results that are not relevant to your service. An easy way to avoid that is to use exact keyword mach or phrase keywords match. NOT broad keyword match.

Lets use the keyword "Limo service in Austin" as an example.

  1. Exact Match: [Limo service in Austin]. Only triggers ads for exact matches or very close variants.
    Example: Limo service Austin, Limousine service Austin
  2. Phrase Match: "Limo service in Austin." Triggers ads for search queries containing the entire phrase or close variations.
    Example: Best limo service in Austin, Book limo service in Austin for corporate
  3. Broad Match: Limo service in Austin. Shows ads for a wide range of variations, synonyms, and related terms.
    Example: Limo service job in Austin, Limo service regulations in Austin. (You don't want to show up and pay for these clicks!)

Also, you can add negative keywords, those you never want to show up for. For example Party Bus, if you don't have them but get too many requests for those.

4. Don't Advertise on Google Display Network

When setting up ads, it automatically selects Google Display Network.

If selected,  Ads can appear on relevant sites, videos, and apps across Google (like YouTube) and the Internet when you have leftover Search budget. You don't want your ad to show up when someone is watching a youtube video or playing a video game.

5. Landing Page

Make sure your landing page makes it easy to contact you and that it builds trust. Make it easy for them to book with a phone number, non stock images, a short paragraph about your mission and address any objections they could have.

Preferably have a modern booking tool that people can use to directly make a reservation.
